pre-marital & life lately

we're mostly finished with pre-marital counseling. our friend duane is performing the wedding ceremony & he and his wife julie (also one of my dear friends!) agreed to do couples pre-marital with us. it's been really awesome and fun so far. they share a lot of wisdom about the challenges and joys of marriage. FH and i really appreciate their honesty~
this past week was about communication, aka "talking and listening". we're using this book by walter wangerin, who does a great job with the ins and outs of dialoging as a couple. wangerin stresses the importance of both partners talking and both partners listening. it's really helpful to think about. [i actually notice myself re-checking my communication with other people, too!]


today i was working on our seating arrangement on our website. the response cards have been coming in like crazy lately & it's so so exciting to get 'em in the mail. (on a related note, i did actually take pics of our invites & the whole process, but they are on FH's camera so i haven't posted about them yet!) i think it's really fun to pick&choose who will sit where. i love connecting people and giving them a chance to get to know one another. hopefully our wedding reception will be a perfect chance for that to happen!

life is super busy & we have a big check-list to tackle over the next 52 days.

eek, 52 days. that's absolutely amazing. i can hardly wait till november 20.
