variation on the receiving line

i hate awkward hugs. i also hate receiving lines. i absolutely don't want to have one.



so we came up with a solution: FH and i will help serve our guests as they go through the Qdoba buffet line. it's mostly self-serve but we could at least dish out the rice & beans.

there are multiple reasons why this is a great idea...

1. we won't be expected to hug everyone. this saves me from awkwardly hugging FH's relatives that i've never met.
2. we'll only call 1 or 2 tables at a time so the entire crowd won't be waiting.
3. we can at least say hello to every guest.
4. the line will keep moving b/c we won't be able to chat endlessly with anyone.
5. we want to live our lives serving each other and others, so what better time to start than at our reception!


i think we've pretty much decided to do this option. which means i'm gonna need an apron to wear over my dress. etsy is my number 1 source and so far, this is my number 1 favorite:
