save-the-dates

this is out of order, but i wanted to give a little how-to about our save the dates.

first: i wanted to be economical and earth-friendly so we sent out electronic save-the-dates via pingg.com. we simply uploaded a picture and added our message. seriously easy! the trickiest part was getting all our email addresses organized.

second: some fam members don't have email and i knew a few people would like to have actual save-the-date photos to hang on their fridge. since i had previously joined shutterfly.com, i received 50 free prints for signing up!! i printed 50 copies of our "engagement" photo [see above], and paid 3 bucks for shipping.

third: i bought a package of random cardstock at a.c. moore for about 4 bucks. [it comes in all random colors and sizes, so i cut down the size that fit the best]. i used spray-on adhesive to attach the cardstock to the photos, then wrote our save-the-date info on the back.

fourth: i had to leave room for the mailing address, return address [which apparently is required on postcards now!] and a postcard stamp.

fifth: they turned out SO cute and so cheap*!! my only regret is that i didn't spray the adhesive perfectly and a couple of the postcards ended up with spots on them. they weren't really noticeable, but my OCD self was annoyed.

sixth: i have some cardstock pieces left so i'm planning to figure out a way to use them... place cards or table numbers or something...
