i hated trying on wedding dresses.
the whole process was actually very disappointing until i realized that the problem was that i always went straight from work when i wasn't wearing any make-up and my hair wasn't styled. (duh)
anyway, i eventually found a super cute dress on once wed and bought it from a girl for half the price (around 400 at david's bridal. i paid 200!). two weekends ago when i tried it on i noticed that it was still slightly long for me since i'm planning to wear flats... i asked my friend julie if she knew anyone locally who could do a bustle in the back so i wouldn't have to hold it the whole day... she did. i stopped by the lady's house last friday, tried on the dress, told her what i needed and left.
she looked up online how to do a bustle, worked on it this week and called me yesterday to say i could come pick it up. she wouldn't charge me anything & it turns out that bustling is actually really really simple. all my MOH (or mom, or brand new husband, or whoever!) will have to do is tie a little bow with two ribbons under the bottom layer of the dress. SWEET!
okay, so i'm hesitant to even post these pics because they do NOT do the dress justice! it's really lovely and light and elegant and i'm super excited to wear it. but the lighting in my room wasn't good and i was too lazy to get rid of the blur. anyway, here goes:
