[note: i apologize that there is NO semblance of order to these wedding preparation posts; fortunately, the tags on the left side bar give a tiny bit of organizational help.]anyway, i ate lunch at Qdoba today and was reminded how absolutely stoked i am to get our wedding food from there!!! so here's the deal.
most of the weddings i've been to have had mediocre food, at best. it tends to be pretty generic. PLUS caterers are mad expensive. one guy we talked to said he would try to give us a deal-- only 50 bucks a plate, as opposed to 60! seriously?!
in the midst of all the frustration of finding a reception site & brainstorming food, i noticed a sign for Qdoba catering and had a brainstorm!~ mexican food is probably my fav genre of food ever. plus it's unique. plus a buffet gives options for a wide variety of people. plus, FH liked the idea, too.
you can find all the details on Qdoba's website. the brochure i looked at today says that the hot taco bar & hot naked burrito bar [my favorite!] are roughly $8.50 per person without dessert. they bring chafing dishes to keep the food hot. local delivery depends on whether it's available at the closest store. fortunately, we live in a suburban area with 2 Qdobas close by. i don't know details about pick-up or whether you have to return their dishware; i also haven't figured out exactly how to serve people and/or keep the food fresh while 150 people go through the line.
sooooooooooo, why Qdoba for a wedding?! why not?! it's scrumptious. affordable. unique.
