DIY flowers: take 1

before i was engaged [even before i was in this relationship!] i felt strongly that although flowers are beautiful (and i love them), they are not worth the hundreds/thousands of dollars they often cost in regards to weddings. i wanted to figure out a way to have some lovely flowers without breaking the bank. [plus, i saw this on real simple's website & got inspired!]
i decided to purchase flowers at sam's club and create my own bouquets & decorations. sam's has gorgeous flowers year-round and the mixed bouquets have a lot of variety, which i love.

so i went to scope it out last week & saw that they sell big bunches of baby's breath, too. i bought some to take home and experiment. my idea is to make all the girls' bouquets out of baby's breath. i'll use the leftovers & a single bloom from a mixed bouquet for the guys'/dad's boutonnieres. then i'll somehow make 2 corsages for the moms.


the practice baby's breath bouquet turned out great!! the above pics are from the creation process. i decided to make them pretty small so they'll be manageable & not heavy for my ladies to carry ALL day!

in addition, i plan to buy a big mixed bouquet and pick pieces for my bouquet. these are what i'm hoping for:
